3DViewStation: Release Notes v2020.1

Kisters has made a number of improvements with the new release v2020.1 of the 3DViewStation on 27.08.2020. For the first time, the update was released for all products at the same time.

  • New setup - only one for all products
  • New Clash & Clearance Function: Distance Band Analysis
  • New: Measure angle between projected lines
  • New: Apply profile to existing view
  • New: Export selected views as files
  • New: Define colours via RGB or hexadecimal values
  • New in VR Edition: Save model as .3DVS file
  • Improved: Faster distance calculation between bodies
  • Improved hierarchical explosion
  • Improved volume calculation and open shell detection
  • Improved VSXML loading time
  • Improved output window (progress / information / general)

  • No further support for DGN

Minimum requirements

Furthermore, the minimum requirements for the desktop version have changed.

3DViewStation Desktop

Minimum system requirements

  • Requires Windows 8.1 or higher, 64-bit
  • Processor with SSE 4 support
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 2 GB hard disk space
  • Integrated or dedicated graphics card with DirectX 10.1 or higher. Software-side CPU rendering is possible
  • Virtual machines are only allowed with network licences (floating)

Licence server

Minimum system requirements

  • Windows 8.1 (x64) / Server 2012 R2 (x64) or higher*
  • 200 MB hard disk space
  • Virtual machine allowed

*The licence service requirements are met with the operating system requirements.
