A new version of the CAD converter CrossManager from Datakit has been available since January 2025: 2025.1.

All you need to know about the new version 2025.1:

1. qif converter

CrossManager now includes a new converter for the QIF* version 3.0 file format (*Quality Information Framework) and enables the Conversion from QIF to PDF, JT and STEP. The converter is intended for anyone who wants to compare quality information with development data.

In addition to the QIF converter, 3D geometry data, tolerances, PMI dimensions, assemblies, attributes and UUIDs (Universally Unique Identifiers) are also available in the new version.

The QIF file format is an ANSI and ISO Open Standard CAD format that can contain semantic PMI data (Product Manufacturing Information) and other metadata.

The following improvements have also been made to CAD Converter CrossManager in the first software update for 2025.

2. read UUIDs

Ability to read UUIDs that are defined as NavisWorks GUIDs. This ensures better traceability of data for users of the software.

3. processing of graphical or semantic PMIs

Processing of graphical or semantic PMIs to supplement or improve the accuracy of converters that read Creo View, Catia V5, V6, UG NX and write JT formats.

4. optimised handling of Nurbs

Version 2025.1. offers optimised handling of Nurbs (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) and tree structures in Catia V5 and V6.

5. extended SolidWorks assembly import

Extended SolidWorks assembly import for configuration management, this applies equally to virtual or imported components.

6 Autodesk Revit

The new version of CrossManager also enables detailed unit and colour marking in Revit.
